Meet Mayur

Hi, I’m Mayur.

I’m a husband, father, and soon-to-be grandfather. I work in finance, love to travel and hike, and I am always seeking the best for my family, friends, and workplace.

At home. My wife and I live in Northern Virginia. We have two amazing children. Our son is married and we’re welcoming our first grandchild this year. Our daughter is engaged, and we look forward to celebrating her wedding — among the many family milestones still ahead.

Family and friends have always been at the center of my life. Whether it’s celebrating holidays, sharing a meal, traveling together, or playing games with the people I love, those moments are what matter most.

At work. My career in financial services has helped families build stronger financial futures. My current company’s mission is making homeownership possible for millions of Americans, and contributing to that has been a great privilege. I still have many meaningful years to keep serving others through my work.

Outside of work. I love traveling, hiking, reading, watching movies, exercising, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family. I especially look forward to my visits to India — they keep me connected to my roots and strengthen relationships that span generations.

Like most people, I imagined the years ahead as a time to travel more, celebrate family milestones, remain active, keep contributing professionally, and enjoy life’s everyday moments. But my health has taken an unexpected turn.

My Kidney Journey

In 2025, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

Despite extensive testing at Johns Hopkins Hospital, we do not know the underlying cause.

If my kidney function continues to decline, I may need dialysis. My medical team believes that a living donor kidney transplant — before dialysis becomes necessary — provides the best long-term health and quality of life.

Every day I’m grateful for the care I receive, and remain hopeful that someone, somewhere, may be willing to consider becoming a living donor.

Why living kidney donation matters

A living kidney transplant offers the best opportunity for a longer, healthier life.

Many people are surprised to learn:

  • Most people need only one kidney

    One kidney is sufficient to live a full and healthy life — for donor and recipient each.

  • A donor doesn’t need to be a blood type match

    Incompatible donors can still help through a paired kidney swap program.

  • Safety first

    Donors receive a comprehensive medical evaluation to ensure donation is safe.

  • Completely confidential

    You work directly with the hospital. Mayur is never told about your medical records or inquiries.

  • No financial burden

    Medical costs related to donation are covered by Mayur’s medical insurance.

  • No pressure, no obligation

    You can pause or stop the process at any point. Learning more doesn’t commit you to anything.
